Our new candle chandeliers have arrived. All our lighting sells well but it is especially fun when brand new designed are completed and shipped to us. Truly they are gorgeous! I love the rustic white ones that are distressed to age the surface for a vintage, antique look.

Candlelight warms up your space and there is nothing better than relaxing with a glass of wine out on your patio in the evenings.

Display Your Wine Artfully

What is the most common gift to bring to a dinner party? In my experience, the answer is a bottle of wine. Wine bottles can be quite beautiful and are worth displaying. My husband and I have an extensive wine collection, and we like to display many of our bottles on our kitchen counter.

We have two wrought iron wine racks which each have beautiful grape leaf detailing that complements our decor. The wine racks store 12 bottles between them. The bottles are of assorted color which we think adds charm and pop to the room. Plus, it’s a handy place to store the wine your guests bring so they can see that you really appreciate their gift.

Preparing Your Home for a Disaster

A well prepared home is the best defense for saving your family during a dreadful time of need such as a fire.  If you live in a multi-level home or apartment building, then a fire escape ladder is one product you must ensure to have for a safe exit.  It is very common for a building fire to cut-off access areas like stairways and elevators.  Not to mention, it can be very hazardous to use an elevator during a fire since you have no idea where the fire has spread. This makes a fire escape ladder more preferred to use during such emergencies.

Before investing on one, here are some pointers on picking a reliable escape wooden ladder:

1. Determine Length. Measure the distance and you now have the minimum length for your escape ladder.  It is a good idea to do this for each window since the height may be different.
2. Consider the size of your window. All you need to do is measure the inner width of the window.  The wider the ladder, the easier it will be to climb down, especially during an emergency such as a fire where every second counts.
3. Make sure that the fire escape ladder that you are about to purchase meets the fire code standards.
4. Make sure that the fire escape ladder is easy and reliable to use. Escape ladders need to be very reliable since failure could lead to death or serious injury.

Campus Water Fountains

The university I attended took great pride in its outdoor appearance. There was a large force of landscapers who toiled daily planting and maintaining flower beds, raking leaves, and mowing the lawn. Even the campus botanists got in on the action, keeping track of native trees and recommending expansions in specific plantings.

In addition to the flora, the university had quite a number of water fountains. The most popular outdoor water fountains were a long, stepped fountain that ran along the middle of the mall. It was a popular spot for shenanigans. At least once a semester someone would put bubble bath solution into the fountain and people would run through and play in the bubbles.

Combining Religion and Home Décor

My wife and I are both devout Christians and we enjoy having reminders of our faith interspersed throughout the house. However, we don’t like to push our religion on our friends and relatives, and having a cross, bible or other religious symbol around every corner can seem pushy. So instead of suffusing our abode with overtly Christian items, we use them as part of the room’s.

Take our living room for example, where we have a rustic style décor with wrought iron accents. Instead of throwing a brightly colored cross into the mix, we sought out wrought iron decor crosses for the wall. Not only were we able to find one that perfectly matched our décor, it even doubled as a candleholder

Every dog has his own unique personality, and some dogs are simply wanderers. Continually escaping from their fences or yards, it is not only a nuisance to you, but it also a hassle for your neighbors as well. After all, when a dog escapes from his yard, he’s bound to be the average dog. This means he’s likely to get into your neighbor’s garbage cans or other kinds of mischief.

If you’re at the end of your rope with this behavior, many dog owners turn to a . This administers a small shock when your dog wanders beyond the property line. Quickly enough, dogs learn exactly how far they can or cannot roam. Approved as humane by many pro-animal foundations, the yard fence has two big advantages to simply tying your dog up in the backyard. One, your dog can’t escape from the fence, and two, it allows your dog to wander the entirety of your backyard rather than a small swath.
