Garden Fencing
May 7, 2009
As hard as we work on our garden it can be frustrating when deer find there way into them and eat the foliage, fruits and vegetables. A garden fence can sometimes be an obtrusive eyesore. Many people enjoy rustic wrought iron garden fences that blend in with the surroundings and decor and don’t stick out like a sore thumb.
Most of the customers we speak to are not buying garden fencing just for the look it adds. We get calls every week from people who are trying to solve the problem of deer in their garden. When you can keep the deer out with a barrier that will fit in with your decor you really have found the ideal solution.

I have wood fencing, some wrought iron, and tons of well placed vegetation, but deer still manage to get in and nibble the tasty treats. Grrr. This year I’ll be adding some more composting bins, which might help, too. I have a few indoor compost bins that create awesome worm castings….I don’t have the green thumb others have, I guess and need all the help I can get. Worm castings work wonders on plants and seedlings. http://www.red-worm-composting.com/

We have sold 5′ tall wrought iron fencing to our customers to keep deer away. I imagine they still jump over it though. I talked to them and they were hoping that the fence would detour the deer into someone else’s yard.
